The quaint coastal town of Cape Isle, South Carolina, is the perfect spot for Summer Foster when she escapes her abusive husband.

Finally able to live her dream of owning a bakery, Summer begins the task of rebuilding her life, making sure there is no room for romance or relationships, because in her experience they only lead to trouble. However, when Grant Hamilton, who has served as a Marine for the last ten years, crosses her path, the chance encounter has them both rethinking their futures, as there is no denying the magnetic pull they feel towards each other.

When Summer’s past returns to haunt her, will Grant help Summer pick up the scattered pieces of her life, or will they all fall apart?

**This book can be read as a standalone.

Scattered Pieces is the first book in the Cape Isle series and is the debut novel of the author, Allie Able.

The prologue of the book is very strong and full of many emotions. The first pages in the book gets you trapped and makes you want to read more.

Summer is such an amazing and strong woman that has suffered a lot in her life. When she escaped her abusive husband the only thing that she wanted is to start again and forget about men.

Summer goes to Cape Isle to start again. There she meets ex- marine Grant Hamilton. Grant is a great guy, caring and loving. He just left the marines and comes back to his town to take over his families business.

Summer and Grant meet at her bakery and since the beginning Grant gets attracted by Summer and wants to get to know her more but Summer is not sure she wants to get close to any man.

When Grant is assigned to make Summer´s house renovations he is determined to get to know her better and to know what makes her that way. As time goes on and they start talking  and getting to know each other more.

I really enjoyed reading this book because it is a beautiful story and has a great message behind it.

“Love didn’t hurt you. Someone who doesn’t know how to love hurt you, and you confused the two…

The characters are perfect together both the main characters and their friends. Grant is the perfect guy for Summer because he gets the best out of her and he also is really, really SEXY.

The book is a great romance read. I recommend this book as a must read. I cant wait to read the next book in the series.
